In this painting I wanted to explore viewpoints as a way to experiment with composition. I also handmade the gesso surface and indented rhythmic lines into its surface as a means to also play around with texture and shape. I chose to give the main portion of space to the reflective floor as a way of exploring the continuation of vertical space and the overlapping shapes within it. I wanted to play compositionally with the reflection and the objects placed on the floor surface that disrupt this sense of continuity.
